WORLD SOIL DAY 2024, MEASURE, MONITOR & MANAGE

On 5 December, Villa Farm Enterprise joined the rest of the world to celebrate World Soil Day. 

Healthy soil is key to the health and well-being of people, because it promotes nutritious food security. 

Under the theme: Caring for Soils: Measure, Monitor, Manage - it is important to have accurate soil data and information in understanding soil characteristics so to make informed decisions on how to sustainably manage soil for food security. 

Local farmers and communities especially in remote rural areas have their own means. By integrating their local/traditional knowledge with current tools, through collective action such approaches can help to nurture their soils.

In a @SAFCEI #FLEATII, one faith leader emphasised on the need to take good care of our soil, for what we feed the soil will end up in our stomachs as well.
