COP15 CYNESA PARTICIPATION - OUTCOMES

The Ramsar COP15 concluded with the adoption of several key resolutions, including those on the global wetlands inventory, climate-wetlands integration, financing restoration, and strengthening partnerships. The most significant outcome was the formal endorsement of the Strategic Plan 2025–2034, which sets out clear goals, indicators, and implementation pathways. While progress was made, it was also clear that achieving global targets will require political will, adequate resourcing, and inclusive participation of all actors; parties, civil society, private sector, youth and faith based actors.

Youth and faith communities must be meaningfully involved not only in conferences, but in implementation, monitoring, and accountability processes. CYNESA stands ready to play its part in this work, both by advocating for policy reforms and by mobilizing young people to lead change at the grassroots level.

COP15 reaffirmed the interconnectedness of ecological, social, and spiritual dimensions of environmental action. As the world faces converging crises from biodiversity loss to water scarcity; wetlands stand as a vital line of defense and a symbol of resilience.

We remain dedicated to transform Victoria Falls COP15 commitments into action on the ground, in wetlands both large and small, urban and rural, protected and threatened
